Raised By Wolves
Yay, Music Monday. Excellent track up for grabs from Bostons Jenee Halstead. Described by some as the American folk version of PJ Harvey. Download and stream her newly released single “Bitten by the Night” off her album Raised by Wolves.
With her lyric “I am not the person that I used to be,” Jenee Halstead paints a metaphoric picture of her beat driven single, “Bitten by the Night”, which covers topics we’ve all experienced to some degree; love and loss. “I am sort of obsessed with vampires and always wanted to do a song that paid homage to them without sounding trite or cheesy,” Halstead said. “I think this song is beautiful because it embraces a theme that many people can relate to and feeds my fantasy of the character turning into a vampire (not by choice). Good Morning Moon

Marian Call
Album:
Something Fierce
Are you ready for Music Monday?! We’ve got two tunes for you this week, including the Alaskan songstress, Marian Call and Brooklyn’s The Modern Airline who have both released great new song for your downloading pleasure!

For fans of: Regina Spektor, Ingrid Michaelson, The Weepies
Centered on a dare by a longtime fan, Marian Call penned a playful wake-up song for astronauts. At the heart of this cheery song, Call incorporates the spirit of the album by moving beyond the studio and including those that helped fund her album; the fans who sang, whistled, and added doo doot doot doo’s. “So many different sounds wanted to be added that a lot happened in my own home, in the homes of friends, on impulse after shows, in all sorts of different cities,” Call said. “It truly is a mass choir from all over the country, each voice is individual.” Download “Good Morning Moon” here!

For fans of: Kraftwerk, The Moldy Peaches, The New Pornographers
The Modern Airline’s, “Monster on the Campus” is a fun play on the 1958, Jack Arnold directed, sci-fi classic of the same name. “I loved this movie as a kid,” Lee Chabowski said. “It was constantly played on Sunday afternoons.” And what better way to pay homage to your childhood nostalgia than to put in song. Blend those traditional sci-fi movie tones with what can only be described as eighties 8-bit video game music and you’ve got an instant classic. Download “Monster on the Campus” here!
